Yang Family Hidden Tradition has been taught by Robert Politzer in New York City since 1994. Robert learned from years of study with Wang Yen-nien, Fourth Generation Master of Yangjia Michuan Taijquan. This blog/website is about the history of the New York City group and the continuous journey that it has been on for twenty-five years.
The New York Yangjia Michuan Group teaches at the West Side Y in New York City are grateful for the support they have provided since 1994. New York Yangjia Michuan also arranges workshops and other events for national and international participation.
Prior to Covid classes at the Y were taught three times a week, with the following schedule:
Saturdays, 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM
Seniors and others: Introductory Taiji practice,
The Thirteen Postures and Introduction to the Fan and First Section.
Mondays/Wednesdays, 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Intermediate and advancedLevel: Long Form (Duan one, two and three),
Fan Review, Ba Fa, Sword.
Every level of students are welcome to all classes. Classes begin with stretching and a selection of the basic exercises of the Yangjia Michuan Taijiquan system. Beginners will work with more advanced students and also receive introductory instruction.
There is a mailing list that will be updated from time to time. Events, holiday schedules and other useful information will be be sent via email to class and group members.
